COMPASSION-FOCUSED COACHING FOR FOOD & BODY IMAGE
Let's end the cycle of emotional eating
so you can get back to living your life.
You've already done a lot of work to let go of rigid rules and diets.
Now it's time to free up your mental space and find peace in the middle ground, so you can finally feel fully present and thriving in the life you've worked hard to build.
DOeS THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?
You've felt at war with food and your body for as long as you can remember...
Maybe you're the capable, responsible one that people rely on. You make time for everyone else even when there's a lot going on, and it's exhausting. You finish work, buy something, eat it the moment you get home, and tell yourself it's how you calm down after a busy day, even though you know it doesn't actually make you feel better.
You don't want to fall prey to society's expectations, but you do feel uncomfortable in your body and dread the times where it may be on show. A part of you feels ashamed to admit that you want to make a change.Â
You know all the 'right' answers and feel frustrated that you can't follow through. You know you'd feel better if you moved your body, and worse for eating when it's not what you need. You do it anyway, and then you're bitterly disappointed with yourself, and wonder if you'll ever be able to change.Â
Knowing what to do was never the missing piece. Neither is working harder.
Having the capacity to act on what you want most in the moment is.
And that's something you can build with the right support.
LET'S GET STARTEDHere's how you get your capacity back:
Compassionate Motivation
Showing up for yourself with encouragement and support, not white knuckling your way through.
Emotional Transformation
Understanding what your emotions are signalling, and finding supportive ways to respond.
Stronger Self-Connection
Reconnecting with the parts of you that exist outside of managing food and appearance - joy, play, rest, connection.
That's exactly what we work on inside coaching.

This process has created so much freedom in my life.
I reached out to address my relationship with food - something that felt overwhelming and unachievable. Having Shannon be a compassionate mirror to my thoughts and actions was extremely helpful to address issues I didnât even know were part of the initial problem. It was honestly a life changing experience, one I would say everyone would benefit greatly from.Â

You carry a lot of responsibility for others
Here's what changes when you have a space just for you:
Evenings aren't the danger zone they used to be. Something stressful happens, and you feel it, properly feel it, instead of it turning into a craving you have to manage.
Work happens, it's hard some days the way work is hard, but it doesn't spill into everything else the way it used to. There's room now for the things that got crowded out: reading, resting, and socialising instead of withdrawing.
You rest without the nagging list of things you still need to do, and actually feel restored by it â rather than hanging on until your next holiday. You follow through on the behaviours that support you because you want to, not because it's another box to tick.
You show up differently around people in your life: more open, more present, more joyful, and your relationships are deeper as a result.
Your body can be on show, in a swimsuit, while changing clothes at the gym, without so much worry about how it looks. You enjoy wearing all of your wardrobe rather than a small portion of it for months at a time.
Most of all: the urges are gone and your headspace is back. You feel lighter, more alive, and fully present in your life. You're so proud of the person you've become.
IS THIS RIGHT FOR YOU?
You might be ready for this work ifâŠ
Youâve been trying to fix this for as long as you can remember. Youâve stopped strict dieting, but you still have periods of unwanted eating and want to end them because of how they impact your feelings about yourself.
Youâve had previous support, worked with nutrition coaches, and made some progress. But you havenât reached a place where it feels like enough, or where the changes actually stick.
The mental load is affecting more than food. You sometimes pull back from people, and you know your relationships would feel easier if food and body worries werenât always in the background.
You often feel frustrated and impatient with yourself, and it feels more natural to be critical than supportive. Youâre ready to find out what it's like to be more encouraging.
Youâve created a life with a lot of good things in it, but you donât feel as present and alive in it as youâd like to. Youâre ready to do the deeper work now, so the next part of your life isnât weighed down by food and body concerns.
"I relate to myself with compassion rather than criticism, and I'm sharing more of my thoughts and emotions with other people instead of holding them all in. I stopped getting urges to emotionally eat after 30-plus years of constantly fighting them off, and that has felt so freeing."
01. You'll Start With Self-Reflection
Time to get curious. Youâll answer a few thoughtful questions to better understand whatâs really going on with food and body struggles, so we can start addressing the real patterns.
02. Get Coaching Calls Every Two Weeks
Every two weeks, weâll meet for a 45-minute call to work through challenges, build new skills, and move forward with support that actually fits your life.
03. Practice Compassion-Focused Exercises
Between sessions, youâll practice evidence-based Steady MindâąÂ exercises to regulate emotions, build self-confidence and take care of your body in a way that lasts.
Youâll get a session summary after each call, so you don't have to worry about remembering everything we talked about. In the weeks between calls, you have the option to check in with a quick form, and I'll send back a short voice or video note to help you keep moving.
Hereâs how it works:
An evidence-based process to help you feel comfortable in your body and finally free from the war with food and yourself.
Map your emotion systems
We start by mapping how your threat, drive, and soothe systems are working for you right now. Once you can see them clearly, your patterns stop feeling like personal flaws and start making sense.
Build your soothing system
You've been bouncing between your threat and drive systems, and itâs exhausting. Through soothing-rhythm breathing, imagery, and body practices, we build the soothing system thatâs been missing so you have more capacity instead of overwhelm.
Approach emotions with compassion
Instead of avoiding, fixing, or trying to get rid of your emotions, youâll learn to listen to what theyâre telling you. Youâll practice responding in ways that actually help, rather than leave you feeling worse afterward.
Strengthen your body image
Youâll experience real appreciation for your body, not forced gratitude because you think you âshould.â Here we focus on adaptive appearance investment and building identity beyond how you look.
Have we met yet? I'm Shannon.
I'm a nutritionist with a diploma in Compassion Focused Therapy, and the creator of Body Image Fundamentals - an educational program for health professionals.
Most people come to me already knowing a lot.
You can probably spot an unhelpful thought. You've journaled, tried breathing exercises, and meditated. But it's felt like another box to tick, another thing you're supposed to do, rather than something that actually changes how you feel.
That's the gap I work in: not what you think, but how you feel. Most approaches stop at thinking differently. I work with the emotions underneath, the ones you already recognise, and the ones you don't yet. We build motivation that comes from care instead of shame, and strengthen your sense of self so the change actually lasts, instead of holding for a few months and slipping again.
I know youâre not someone who usually asks for help, but you donât have to do this on your own.

Here's what clients say:
I found the middle ground I didnât think existed.
Even though I wanted to address my body image and eating habits, I still had body composition goals â and I wasnât sure those could coexist. Shannon helped me find a way to pursue both without being consumed by either.
Iâm living a more meaningful, fulfilling life without sacrificing the things that matter. If you want to flourish, in every sense of the word, Shannon is your girl.

I can go to the beach on bad body image days â and actually enjoy it.
I was following Shannonâs work for a while before reaching out, so I knew it wouldnât be like any of my previous coaching experiences â but Iâm still amazed by how much my life has changed. I can enjoy a weekend away without packing âhealthy foods,â I can go to the beach even on my bad body image days, and Iâm even pursuing a career change. I felt heard, supported, and understood every step of the way.
BARBARA VODE

I achieved my biggest life goal.
Before working with Shannon, I was directing my energy toward the wrong things. I wanted to perform better in dance, but I was consumed by food and how I looked.
Now, I think about how my mindset supports the life I want â and I received an offer for my masterâs degree, which was my top goal.
This was honestly the best investment Iâve made. I couldnât have done this without Shannon.
RACHEL GREER

I found peace with food - and with myself.
I came to Shannon with a seriously tragic relationship with food, and an even worse view of myself. Her approach was unlike anything Iâd experienced before- and Iâve had a few coaches.
Now, Iâve rediscovered a way of life free from perfectionism, chronic restriction, harsh self-talk, and the constant fear and anxiety around food. I feel a sense of peace and internal harmony thatâs changed every area of my life.Â

I quit tracking and shared more meals with my fiancée.
This experience far exceeded my (high) expectations and I felt at the centre of every decision between us. I was able to quit tracking macros without too much stress, improve my performance in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, eat out with confidence, and share more meals with my fiancĂ©e. Working with Shannon was easily one of the best things Iâve ever done for my health â and Iâll be forever grateful for her work with me.

I finally understood what was holding me back â and everything changed.
The questions Shannon asked, how she asked them, and the resources she provided helped me explore my mind in a totally different way. It wasnât just about setting a plan â it was about finally understanding what was actually holding me back. Shannon got to the root of it, with care and compassion the whole way through.
HEIDI WARR

I finally stopped measuring my worth by macros and bodyweight.
Iâve worked with a few coaches before, but Shannon was completely different â in the best way. She helped me go deeper than ticking macro boxes and actually untangle the story behind my relationship with food. I stopped needing to âearnâ my meals and started seeing nutrition as a way to care for myself. Her lessons still stick with me â not just in how I eat, but in how I show up as a human and a coach.
CAITY HANIVER

I finally broke free from the dieting/emotional eating cycle.
Before coaching with Shannon, I was stuck in a constant cycle of dieting and emotional eating. I was tying my worth to my weight, and it was taking over my life.
Shannon helped me become more compassionate with myself, so I could finally do the hard things and take time for me.
IÂ get more stuff done, I feel more mindful, I am feeling so much better in my own skin. I have more interesting conversations, because I have more time to read. I actually feel a little bit tearful writing this, but I don't weigh, track myself, my steps, my calories & goodness knows what else daily. I have time & that's precious.
KATIE BROWN

"Every time I'd tried and failed to 'fix' myself, I felt more hopeless, that nothing would ever work. It hasn't always been easy, but I trusted the process, and trusted myself to keep showing up, and I can honestly say it's been life-changing."
Let's end the cycle of emotional eating, so you can get back to living your life.
